MarieTVInterviews - Amanda LaCount: The Teenage Hip Hop Dancer Who’s Fighting for Body Positivity

MarieTV is one of the YouTube channels I watch. Marie Forleo is the host of MarieTV. She is an American life coach, motivational speaker and an author. Also she is the owner of Marie Forleo International, B-School and MarieTV. All the interviews and other shows in MarieTV are totally focussed on personal development. The last interview I watched was the interview with Amanda LaCount.

Amanda LaCount is a professional hip hop dancer, choreographer, actress, singer, model and influencer. She is also a body positive advocate. Amanda has her on movement #breakingthestereotype which promotes body positivity and the belief that any "body" can be a dancer. She has a body which is not the usual body type a dancer is supposed to have. But her love for the dance and her hardwork made her to be at the summit of the dancing world at a very young age.

Amanda started dancing when she was 2 years old. When she was a kid, she was told by her trainer that she doesn't have the body type to be part of the dance group. How many of you have got a similar comment from your most admiring trainer, teacher, parents or anyone else? Amanda is just 18 years now. Instead of stopping dancing, she climbed the dancing world by overcoming the criticism from others about her body. Some of her most notable performances include dancing with Meghan Trainor on the Radio Disney Music Awards, choreographing and dancing for Sony UK's Ryan Blyth "Raise A Glass" music video, dancing on 'The Ellen Show' with Keala Settle from "The Greatest Showman" movie, dancing with Disney's "Descendants 2" Cast on DWTS, dancing on 2 Episodes of The Voice, dancing in Katy Perry's "Swish Swish" music video feat. You could read about her in her website http://www.amandalacount.com/about.

Amanda LaCount provides inspiration to fight against the need to be tall and slim to be a dancer. She showed us we don't have to be the way the society expected us to. Instead we can create our own footprint in the dance world with the body we own. She opened a new paradigm where people with any body shape enjoy dancing and viewers appreciate it. She opened those eyes blindfolded by the stereotype. Until now we were denied the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate them. I like to call this scenario as a new venture in the human evolution.

We are in the digital world where new inventions occur rapidly. In the same way, we are improving on the other side of human abilities. We are evolving in consciousness. One of the real time examples is Amanda LaCount where she opened up a new outlook in the dance world. Amanda played a vital role in the dance world. Her love to dance made her to start a movement #breakingthestereotype which not only inspired those who love dancing but also those who are struggling to love their own body. Another example is 'Elaine Welteroth' who introduced the beauty of people of color into the western white fashion world.

Each and every human being is born perfect. If you are ever told you are not pretty enough or slim enough or fat enough by your loved ones or by norms existing in social media that means they are blindfolded by their reality or they don't have the ability to see the real beauty. If you are struggling with the old beliefs and trying to fit in, then please don't! Be inspired by people like Amanda LaCount. When you try to follow your passion and gets frustrated due to the bullshit unwritten rules or the benchmarks in the society - take a break, sit with yourselves, love the way you are, believe that you are enough to achieve your passion. Then imagine that your passion have come true and be grateful for that future success. Open your eyes and start working to be your future self. You are the next one who is going to create a new paradigm. You are the one who is going to bring more colors into the world by achieving your passion. The world is ready for you!
